We went to see Elmo this past weekend. Kate loved it! She danced, screamed, and laughed the whole time. She was a little unsure when the characters came to our seats, but she loved them from a far. So glad we went, and glad she enjoyed it.

Well I went a little stir crazy in the house one day, so off we went to Toys R US. Big mistake. I went a little overboard and was like a kid at Christmas. I think I enjoy it more than Kate does. Anyway once we got home, she awoke to find her new surprise. We must be outdoors all the time, and we cry when we can't.

We had a blast this afternoon at our church spring fling. They had a petting zoo and inflatable jumpers, music, and good food. The weather could not have been better,it felt great! Kate loves being outside, and she enjoyed the afternoon. It was a fun day after being gone this weekend.

Ok, well it is a struggle these days with Kate anytime we go to the Grocery or Walmart. She no longer sits in the buggy, we usually stand up in the larger part. Sometimes even this does not work and we are the screaming child in the store b/c she wants down. I bring treats, juices, toys, etc. I have even attempted new grocery stores due to the buggy selection. Very sad, but you do what you got to do. The other day I caught her as she was falling head first out of the Walgreens buggy. Whew! Anyway today at Brookshire, we found a new type. She did not make a peep!!! It was kinda like a fair ride I think. Although I had doubts (b/c it straps like the car seat, which is another post I need to talk about) but she loved it. I had to document the trip!!!

P.S. Update on chickenpox- Well I feel like we have played "hookey". Kate did have 4 spots on her abdomen but they were very MINOR to say the least.It never bothered her one bit. So I am still not sure if it was a very mild case or something else. But three are gone today and the most suspicious one has scabbed over. So think we are returning to school tomorrow for sure!

Kate continues to just grow up so quickly and she is becoming a sweet little girl. We talk all the time. We know how to say "thank you" but please is when she says, "Momma, Momma, Momma". We are working on that. She and Miller are big buddies, especially since she feeds him everything, or at least lets him lick her food, nasty. We are having so much fun these days. We woke up Christmas morning at home in Madison. Kate had the best time and she was so excited to see what Santa had brought her. She played and played and played. I think this age is so fun right now. She just is so grown up. I feel like the baby stage is over and wow here comes my toddler. She is just talking so much and acting like a little girl. As sad as I am that the "baby " stage is over she sure is fun!

It has been awhile since I posted. Sorry but we have had a lot going on and this one keeps

me extremely busy! We are into mom right now so there is little time alone these days. We

are walking, talking, throwing some temper tantrums, and just growing up. We are getting ear tubes on Friday due to recurrent ear infections, so I hope she will get some relief. Still she is the

sweetest thing. Our favorite word is "Uh Oh", and we think it's funny to throw our food off the high chair and say "Uh Oh". We also love waving and saying "Bye Bye" and we like to blow kisses. Also we think every animal makes the sound like a dog "Woof Woof", still working on that.

Today is Kate's first Birthday! I can't believe she is one today. This year has flown by but we have loved every minute of it. I am a little sad my baby is growing up. She has now starting standing on her tip toes to open the taller cabinets. Well she figured out it was more fun to crawl in and find out what was under there! Silver Rattle and Miller

Kate goes all around the house with this silver rattle in her mouth. Can't quite figure it out but she loves it. Also of course the dog, Miller. She almost terrorizes him. She loves to pull his hair, ears, and tail. Sweet dog does not mind, but usually runs from her!

P.S. This is how our wild hair looks when we wake up in the mornings. Also Kate turned 10 months on September 9th. I love you sweet girl!!!

Kate has had a big weekend! Yes, she experienced the Grove and Vaught/Hemingway Stadium aka Ole Miss Football!!!! We are starting her early. The heat was almost unbearable, but she did really well. As you can see she sweated the whole time but overall she enjoyed it. It did exhaust her. Then Sunday night I finally decided it was time to trim the "rat tail". Gosh, I hate to call it that because her hair is so pretty. But Roger and I gave it a little trim and it looks too cute. So here are pics from a big weekend.

Nine Month Appointment!!!

We saw Dr. Rohman today for our nine month appt. I still can't believe how fast time flies and that soon Kate will be a year old. Kate had to get her first "finger stick" to check for anemia, and also two immunizations today. I was so proud of her she barely cried at all, and did not cry at all for one shot. Anyway she had her first bandaid on her finger and she was obsessed with it. Then she tried to eat it so I took it off. Here are some facts about nine months.....

Things about Kate:

Crawling, Pulling up, loves to say MaMa and DaDa, getting a little separation anxiety, needs a haircut!, doesn't go to bed as easy these days (tries to pull down her mobile), loves real food, still has no teeth, oh and have I mentioned....WE ARE INTO EVERYTHING!!!!

Destin Trip 2008

We just returned from a week long trip to Destin, Florida with my entire family (mother's side). We have been taking this vacation since before I was born... maybe for 30 years? We always look forward to it and we are sad to see it end each year. Kate enjoyed the beach and really was a trooper, considering she had a horrible cough/congestion/ then both ears got infected. Yuck. But she had a blast! She did try to eat sand and she loves the pool. Kate is almost nine months old and I can't believe it. Where has the time gone? We are very very close to crawling, we are becoming a little clingy these days, we talk alot, we love to clap, and still have no teeth! She also has the sweetest, cutest personality. We love each day with her! She is so fun.

Anniversary Getaway to New Orleans!!!!

This weekend we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary! Actually it was June 12th but we could not get away until this weekend. We went with Andrea and Aaron Edwards whose anniversary is June 11th. Anyway we had a great time and left our sweet babies at home with Grandparents. One highlight (though there were many) was having our picture taken with the Hand Granade (sp?) Also I would like to mention that I was the Hand Granade Queen because I could throw mine into the basket on the ceiling unlike the others! We had a great time, ate way too much food, but it is nice to return home today.

Kate has just been amazing us lately. It is like we hit 6 months and boom we are so grown up! She has been rolling over, pulling up, and on Sunday (Mother's Day) she began sitting up alone. We have not quite perfected but we were shocked. But when she falls she falls hard like a brick wall so we must be ready to catch. She also loves Miller (dog) and watching him. I am excited we are moving along on schedule but somewhat sad b.c. time has gone by so quickly. It was a great first Mother's Day. I am truly blessed for this sweet girl!

Our latest routine is to eat at Papitos Mexican Restaurant here in Madison on Friday nights. We love Mexican! It felt great outside so we enjoyed dinner on the patio. We were joined by the Loves and Mary Landrum is our girlfriend. Kate loves to laugh and talk to her. One day she will be big enough to run around with her!

So I was on the computer this morning and Kate was trying to nap. Well we know she loves her animal blankies. We only have about 8 and we must have one at all times! One in diaper bag, two in the bed, one at daycare, and misc. ones around the house. So just wanted to show you how she goes to sleep with them. I guess she doesn't like the light when trying to get some Z's! Anyway I do worry sometimes but try to keep an eye on her. I guess she can still breathe with it covering her face!?

Well for the first time Kate rolled over... and I missed it! She was playing on her mat and then I heard her fussing. Next thing I know she was on her tummy on our seagrass rug (ouch) and was whining bc her knees were hurting! So I guess she can do it I just hope I can catch it. Of course I tried to video it and she would not do it again. We are headed to Oxford tomorrow so I am sure I will post those pics soon. We must document our first trip to Oxford. How our life changed November 9,2007

Well after 3 years of being married, we welcomed our first child Kate. Our life sure changed for the best! So, I have created this blog to show all of you a hint of our daily life. Also we would like to share with you our fun memories as we make them. So bare with me this is a first for me and I am going to try and keep up with it. Also I am a little technically challenged so still working on the site (thanks Brit for the header!). Anyway to all our family we miss and love you, we hope too that you enjoy the site.
